The 32LC2D LG TV set, just goes to prove that you can indeed buy a quality television on a budget.
The LG 32LC2D comes in a very cool matte-black finish that will blend perfectly into your living room. The TV set has a large silver grey panel at the bottom to house the perfectly acceptable speakers. The unit comes with a self-assembly silver/grey stand very easy to put together, but if you prefer to hang the unit on the wall, don’t worry, wall-mounting options are available.
The unit weighs 25.5 Kg (with packaging) and measures 811 (w) x 235 (D) x 566.9 (H) mm (without the stand).
On the back you will find a good selection of connections that will satisfy all your needs: two SCART input sockets and a SCART out socket that will allow you to record to a video or DVD recorder, progressive-scan compatible component inputs, PC Audio Input and a vital HDMI digital input. If you want to connect more that one HD source (PS3, HD-DVD player, Sky HD box) you will have to swap the connections around manually or buy a HDMI switch box.
The guys at LG Electronics have designed the LG 32LC2D to have easy access to the connectors on the back even with the unit hanging on the wall.
On the right side of the unit there are 8 control buttons so you can access basic functions without the need to use the 64 key remote control.

This HD Ready LCD 32LC2D LG is a cracking piece of electronic equipment. It looks very smart, has built in Freeview which is well implemented, Picture in Picture which is a great addition and excellent picture quality. You're supposed to use a rooftop aerial for freeview but even with my stand alone aerial in my room, the channels I receive are excellent quality and thats with about 30% signal. The sound quality is ok but like all LCD tvs, the built in speakers are just not that powerful. For best effect, hook it up to a good sound system.
Functionality - It is very easy to setup, the first time you start it up it searches for channels and then away you go. It has 3 Scart sockets, 1 Component Input, 1 HDMI input, PC input, Composite input and S-Video input...pretty much anything you need.

I purchased this LG TV after much research, and am very happy with it. I haven't got to grips with all the functions yet, as there are so many of them, but the picture in picture view option is great. You can view a small screen in one corner of the main picture, or have 'half and half', or a few other variations. The channels are a bit slow to change after pressing the button, but maybe this is true of all modern type TV's. With my old banger CRT telly, channel changing was almost instant, so this new one will take a bit of getting used to.
The picture quality of the 32LC2D Feature is excellent, and sound quality is all it should be.
I imagine that the majority of people looking at the LG 32LC2D are attracted to it, as I was, by the price and the manufacturer. LG have developed quite a reputation for making quality LCD televisions and the 32LC2D does not disappoint. The picture quality is outstanding from a digital input. I spent quite a few weeks going into local electrical stores and looking at practically every 32" LCD TV I could find. I always came back to LG as not only is the design of their models nice and slim in comparison to many other brands (particularly Sony and Philips) but the picture quality was very impressive indeed.
Set-up was a breeze apart from a bit of confusion with accessing the digital channels (the manual does not explain you have to actually select DTV from the input menu instead of TV to get digital). Was a little concerned at first about the fact that there are only 2 Scart sockets at the back, but then realised I no longer needed my set-top box connected so only had one Scart running in anyway. You also get all the other connection options you would expect from a new TV, S-Video, component, RGB, HDMI (now if Microsoft would just make an HDMI connector for the Xbox 360) and a card slot if you want paid for Digital channels broadcast on the Freeview system. I managed to have the TV up and running with my Xbox 360 and DVD/Video combi-player in about 5 minutes.
Everything since then has been a delight. Sound quality was a nice surprise (difficult to check in most high-street stores) with a good quality stereo sound that does a decent job of creating the illusion of surround sound. The Picture-In-Picture feature was not something I was concerned about before purchase but I find I use it all the time now meaning I can keep an eye on the football scores coming in on Sky Sports News whilst watching a DVD or playing on the Xbox. Unfortunately, the remote control is not great compared to other manufacturers. Everything is there, but some buttons take a bit of finding. Also, the menu system is not laid out in a particularly logical fashion. However, given how good everything else is these are minor gripes and should not stop anyone who wants a top quality 32" TV for under 600 pounds from snapping up one of these.
